Shopee Buys: Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon

Wow, it's really been a hot minute since I've posted here but I'm back with a small series of posts! This 2-part post series will feature the Maybelline products that I recently purchased on Shopee. The first product that I'll be sharing with you is their Superstay Ink Crayon. They have a total of 17 shades and the one that I got was in 05 Living on the Edge (you can check out all the other shades here). According to their website, these ink crayons are long lasting with a matte formula which promises up to 8 hours of wear without fading as well as claims to be smudge and transfer-resistant (BIG claims). I got the ink crayon on a special deal on Shopee whereby if I purchased 3 products (within the available list) I would get 10% off in addition to it's current promotional price of RM25.83. However, if you're buying it without any promotions applied, it retails for RM36.90.

So, from the image above you can see what the ink crayon looks like both swatched as well as applied on me. I honestly really do love this product. The formula is extremely creamy and doesn't feel too heavy on the lips like some matte formulas would. The pigmentation on this is really amazing because you don't have to go over your lips too many times to get the colour to show. The ink crayon also comes with a sharpener that is attached to the end. This is just to sharpen the tip whereas the crayon itself is retractable. This product really doubles as a lip liner as well because you can use the tip (after sharpening would be best) to line your lips and use the side of the crayon to fill.

In terms being smudge and transfer-resistant, it does a pretty good job and lives up to it's description. I tried kissing the back of my hand after application and it barely transferred. However, I would have to test the product out further to really see if it lives to it's 8-hour wear claim though. I will be posting an update about this product together with the other two products that I bought at the end of this series to inform you guys about how the products lasted throughout the day and if they're worth spending money on. But in terms of this ink crayon, first impressions are really good. Like I said before, the formula is really nice and creamy and it's relatively easy to apply. If this even lasts 4-5 hours on my lips I will consider purchasing other shades and starting a whole collection.
