Hey Hey Hey! It's a new year which means there's so much new makeup to try! As excited as I am about the stuff I want to get this year, today I'm going to rewind back to 2018 and review Colourpop's Sol palette (special thanks to Emily who got me this as a gift <3)

The beauty in the flesh! This is such a cute warmed toned palette that is travel friendly and has endless looks! Note that I didn't swatch them in order. I swatched the matte shades first and then the shimmers. Anyway... I really love this palette because the shades are right up my alley. You have a bit of orange in there, abit of pink and brown and some bronzey shades as well. How perfect is this? I really love how Colourpop is really consistent with their shadow formula because these apply like a dream and they are really nicely pigmented as well. Just like all their shadows, these also wear for a really long time. The orange shimmer shade "floaties" is one of my faves. It's such a beautiful shimmer and reminds me alot of fire for some reason. I feel like the colour scheme here is great for Chinese New Year. It's so festive that when you use this, the ang paos will surely come flooding in. I really can't get over this palette and I have been using it almost every time I get up to do a look. I just find it so versatile. You can wear it for Uni, on a date, for a fancy dinner or just for fun because why the hell not? Plus, the packaging is really cute... I'd purchase it just for the packaging honestly.
They do have another palette called "Mar" which has more of a blue colour scheme. It's really pretty as well but not really my thing because I don't play around much with those kinds of shades. I find it really great that Colourpop made these two palettes instead of trying to combine the two as some people (like me) don't really reach for blue shades. I throw my hats off to them once again and can't wait to try even more things from them!
I actually wanted to do a post about one of the supershock highlighters I purchased from the Disney collection but I feel that it's going to be too short of a post. I'll probably slide it in to one of my other posts lol especially if I'm planning to do a look with it. I have to say, that shade "A Smile and a Song" is my favourite highlighter of all time. It is the perfect gold shade that I have been searching so hard for and I LOVE IT! Brands really need to make more true gold shades instead of rose gold and champagne. Those are pretty and all but EVERY brand has shades along those lines. So, thank you Colourpop for that!
Anyways, that will be all from me today! Happy New Year to everyone and let's hope all of us keep to our new year's resolutions at least till the end of the month :') Have a great week ahead!
